Mount Belford is one of three 14ers reached from the Missouri Gulch trailhead and is typically combined with Mount Oxford in a long day.
Standard Route
From the Missouri Gulch Trailhead, the trail climbs steeply to Belford's northwest ridge before continuing to the summit. 8 miles round trip standalone, 11 miles if adding Mount Oxford via the connecting ridge.
What to Expect
The Belford-Oxford traverse drops 600 feet to a saddle then climbs back up — you'll feel the second peak. Most climbers also bag Missouri Mountain from the same basin in a separate day.
