Missouri Mountain is one of three 14ers reached from the Missouri Gulch trailhead (the others are Belford and Oxford). It's the most aesthetic of the three, with a dramatic northwest ridge climb.
Standard Route
From the Missouri Gulch Trailhead near Granite, the trail climbs to a high basin then ascends Missouri's west ridge to the summit. 10.5 miles round trip, 4,500 feet of gain.
What to Expect
The northwest ridge has some loose class 2 sections near the top. Missouri is often climbed solo or paired with Belford via the connecting ridge — that traverse is sustained class 2 with mild exposure.
