Ellingwood Point is reached only via Blanca Peak's connecting ridge. It's officially ranked as a 14er and is typically climbed with Blanca in a single day.

Standard Route

From Blanca Peak's summit, traverse the class 2 ridge northwest to Ellingwood Point. Adds about 1 mile and 600 feet to the Blanca trip. Total from a Lake Como camp: 17 miles round trip.

What to Expect

The traverse is straightforward but exposed. Worth the effort if you're already on Blanca. Without including Ellingwood, Blanca-only is a slightly shorter day.
