Mount Lindsey is the southernmost Sangre de Cristo 14er, though access has been closed for years due to a private land dispute. The standard route is class 2 with one short class 3 section.
Standard Route
Historically, the trail started at the Lily Lake / Huerfano River trailheads and climbed the north face. With access closed, climbers should check current status before attempting — alternative routes through wilderness exist but add significant distance.
What to Expect
Access status is a serious limiting factor here. Check 14ers.com for current land-access information before planning a trip.
